Why We Built Rx Billing Genie + Rx MedMatch *
We heard the same pain everywhere: stock in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rx MedMatch extends our mission by helping teams post what they HAVE and find what they NEED medications—so fewer prescriptions stall and fewer boxes expire on the shelf.
Together, Rx Billing Genie eliminates billing friction while Rx MedMatch reduces waste and improves access.
COMPANY HISTORY
The idea for Rx Billing Genie came from Shelley’s frustration as a pharmacist:
“I was spending far too much time on the phone with insurance companies—time that should have been spent helping my patients. Working with technicians, I realized we were all losing about 15 hours a month chasing claim approvals. With today’s technology, there had to be a faster, more efficient way. Since nothing existed to help pharmacists and technicians bill efficiently, Rx Billing Genie was born.”
Later, while working relief, Shelley discovered a cupboard filled with 30 tubes of medication ordered in error—non-returnable and headed for the garbage. That waste was a hit to the bottom line and a missed chance to help patients.
This inspired Rx MedMatch—a real-time “Have/Need” network for sharing surplus stock, reducing expiry waste, and improving access across all pharmacies.
Together, Rx Billing Genie and Rx MedMatch save time, cut costs, and keep patients on therapy.

Leadership
Shelley Morgan Pharm.D, RPh, BSc.
Dr. Shelley Morgan graduated from the University of Western Ontario before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy at SUNY Buffalo. She began her career as a community pharmacist in Niagara Falls, NY, and later served as a Clinical Pharmacist at Chedoke-McMaster Hospital, supporting the Stroke and Acquired Brain Injury programs.
Her daily experience working in an independent community pharmacy and managing insurance claims led her to create Rx Billing Genie. In her pursuit of helping pharmacists and patients, she also developed Rx MedMatch to reduce medication waste and improve access to care.
Nicola Sancho-Persad
Nicola began her career as a Paralegal, developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Drawn to healthcare, she pivoted to pharmacy and graduated from the Pharmacy Assistant Program in 2018.
With hands-on experience processing prescriptions and managing insurance claims, she combines legal precision with pharmacy expertise to help Rx Billing Genie and Rx MedMatch improve efficiency and patient care.
